Course Objective(s)
Salespersons and Estate Agents will gain proper knowledge of the general law of leasing and to understand the rights and duties of the Landlord/Tenant. This course will highlight certain aspects of the Estate Agent’s Act
The key objective is to ensure that estate agents and salespersons understand the general law of leasing and the rights & duties of the Landlord/Tenant so that they can advise and represent Landlord/Tenant in a professional and responsible manner when carrying out their real estate duties. The Estate Agent Act will be covered
This is to reinforce the importance to salespersons and estate agents not to put their clients in a compromising situation where the client (Landlord/Tenant) might be liable to legal action taken against them if they should breach the covenants of the lease agreements.
Salespersons and estate agents will be able to do basic procedural checks on ownership, tenant’s eligibility to rent, prepare letter of intent, inventory list, proper declaration of claims of property tax refunds/stamping of TA.
